I spent 9 years calling the island of Oahu, the Gathering Place, home, and it was amazing.

I’m here to share everything that I learned about the island – sights, activities, celebrations – with you. So you can have the best experience possible on Oahu.

I vacationed in Hawaii a few times. I found it was one of the few places I’d travelled to – and there’s been a few – that I didn’t want to leave.

Finally, once the state did away with the practice of keeping immigrating dogs in quarantine for several months. This was to keep the island ‘rabies-free’.

Eventually they came up with a better alternative, and we moved to Oahu – myself and my 2 dogs. It was the beginning of 9 of the best years I’ve had so far.

I started the process to get my dogs’ paper work ready to go, went through the hassle of getting a TN permit so I could work. I packed up my life, sold most of it, and we were off.

I was determined to take full advantage of being on the island, and I absolutely did.

I hiked, kayaked, explored, and ate my way around the island. And then I did it again.

There’s so much to see and do – and eat – on Oahu.

And here I’m going to share that all with you. When you visit Oahu, I’d love for you to see the best of it, and leave loving it like I do.

Where I’ve lived* and travelled so far

I’ve been travelling for years and I’ve seen some amazing places! I’ll share a few of them with you:

🌍 Uganda – Kampala, Jinja

🌍 Kenya – Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Hell’s Gate, Lake Nakuru

🌍 Tanzania – Serengeti, Zanzibar, Tarangire, Arusha, Mwanza*, Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. *I lived in Mwanza for one month of a 6 month trip

🌍 South Africa* – Richards Bay, Tembe, Mkuze, St. Lucia, Hluhluwe, Kruger, Hermanus, Cape Town, Clifton Beach. *I spend a month volunteering with wildlife conservation in South Africa, and another month exploring the country.

🌍 Namibia* – Fish River Canyon, Solitaire, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, Damaraland, Etosha National Park. *I spent a month road tripping through Namibia.

🌍 Botswana* – Gaborone, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Central Kalahari, Nxai Pan, Maun, Okavango Delta (including Moremi), Savuti, Chobe (including Khwai Concession), Kasane, Gweta, Nata. *I spent a month living in Gaborone, and 6 weeks total using Maun as a base to explore Botswana.

I’ve had the most amazing experiences and I’ve loved every single one. But my heart is in Oahu 🌺.
