Favourite New Year’s Eve Celebration in Oahu – for Adults and for Families!

If you’re planning to ring in the new year in Oahu this 2024, you’re in for a treat! After spending 9 consecutive New Year’s Eves on the island, I can tell you first hand that there’s no better place to celebrate!

Oahu comes alive with a range of events from fireworks to parties. Some have fireworks – some don’t. Some are perfect for families, others offer more grown up fun. Most are outdoors events – the weather’s perfect! On rainy days it’s moved in!

Here’s the scoop on what’s happening on December 31, 2024:

If you love fireworks

Adults Only:

🎉 Tiki’s Waikiki New Year’s Eve Sparkle and Shine Party: Celebrate at Tiki’s Bar and Grill with a live DJ and a dynamic party atmosphere. Perfect if you’re looking for an energetic crowd to see the new year in with. Starts at 8pm!

🎉 Glitz & Glam NYE 2025 at The District: A fancy dress party with a glamorous theme, perfect for adults looking to ring in the new year with style and excitement​! From 8pm to 4am!

🎉 Champagne Dreams – New Year’s Eve Party at Hideout at The Laylow: An upscale event promising an unforgettable evening with elegant touches and a sophisticated crowd​. From 9pm to 1am!

🎉 New Year’s Eve Soirée at Turtle Bay Resort: Features live music, entertainment, and fireworks for resort guests. From 8pm to 12am!

Families with Kids:

🎉 New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show on Waikiki Beach: A family-friendly event where everyone can enjoy the stunning fireworks display launched from an offshore barge​. Visible all along the shore!

🎉 Rock-A-Hula Midnight New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Countdown: This event at the Royal Hawaiian Center has a visual effect firework show on a giant screen. There are 2 luau options, a VIP experiences and a regular package. Or just enjoy the show!

🎉 Waikiki Starlight Luau at Hilton Hawaiian Village: Offers a family-appropriate New Year’s Eve celebration with traditional dances, Hula lessons, and a fantastic fireworks view, making it perfect for all ages​. Doors open at 5:30pm!

Choose any of the 8 open-air restaurants for your meal. See the fashion show that highlights the latest styles from the International Market Place retailers, and non-stop DJ music. From 7pm to 1am!

🎉 New Year’s Eve at Wai Kai: A grand community event with entertainment and activities for all ages. Enjoy live performances by popular bands, DJ music on the Wave Deck, and unique experiences like night surf sessions on Wai Kai Wave.

There are special dining options, private cabana rentals, and a spectacular midnight fireworks display over the lagoon. Get away from Waikiki and explore Ewa Beach! From 8pm to 1am

🎉 All that Glitters – 1920s Themed New Years Eve Dance Party & Tango Lesson: Step back in time with a 1920s-themed party that includes dance lessons, great for adults looking for a unique and interactive evening​! From 8:30pm to 12:30 am.

🎉 Drew Lynch at Hawaii Theatre: Catch a comedy show by Drew Lynch .An evening filled with laughter and entertainment, perfect for adults ready to ring in the new year with humor​! At 8pm.

🎉 Edge of Waikiki: Offers a “Black & White Affair” with a dinner buffet, drinks, champagne toast, and live entertainment. Add a little sophistication and elegance to your celebration! From 8pm to midnight.

🎉 Aloha Tower NYE 2025: The event features three rooms of music including indoor Reggaeton and outdoor Hip Hop, alongside a food lounge. The oceanfront main stage, various DJs, and diverse entertainment such as fire dancing and a LED robot show. from 8pm to 2am!

🎉 Interstellar at Alohilani Resort: A futuristic fantasy-themed party with immersive audio-visual experiences and music. From 8pm to midnight at the Swell Pool Bar and Deck!

🎉 The Ki Countdown: NYE Party at Ki Club: DJ TreBtw will keep the energy high! Have a champagne toast at midnight along with NYE party favors, while supplies last. Tickets also allow entry to neighboring venues Velvet Hawaii and Ballarrinas. From 10pm to 2:00 am!

🎉 New Year’s KISS Party at Kiki’s Night Club: Includes live DJ performances and activities to welcome the new year. The event is hosted at the popular nightclub in Honolulu. Music and dancing from 10pm to 4am!

Families with Kids:

🎉 The Discovery Center’s New Year’s at Noon: Celebrate the New Year at the Hawaii Children’s Discovery Center with a special event just for kids. This unique celebration includes music and activities, with a balloon drop as the countdown hits noon. From 10am to 1pm.

🎉 Noon New Year’s Eve Pineapple Drop: The Town Center of Mililani hosts its Noon Year’s Eve Pineapple Drop, a perfect celebration for families. It starts at 10am and leads up to the pineapple drop at noon.

The event will feature performances from the Haka Performance Group, the Asian Lion Dance Team, Ryugen Taiko, and Anuhea. Take festive selfies at the Mililani Pineapple and enjoy giveaways throughout the celebration! From 10am to 1pm!

🎉 Midnight New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Countdown with Elvis: Complete with party favors, a “champagne” toast, and firework visual effects. Enjoy an meet & greet with the cast and choose from two gourmet dinner options or a cocktail package before the show.

Held at the Royal Hawaiian Center, this event blends tribute performances with traditional Hawaiian music and dance. It’s great for the whole family!
